OpenDocument support in KWord 2
Speaker: Girish Ramakrishnan
One of the goals for KWord 2 is to have full fledged support for OpenDocument. KWord 2 builds upon the OpenDocument features provided by KWord 1.x. Unfortunately, due to the massive restructing of KOffice code due to introduction of technologies like flake, the KWord 2 code base is , well, flaky :-)
This summer I got sponsored by NLNet to work on improving ODF support in KWord. I will talk how I approached this daunting task, the framework I have put in place for regression testing and standard compliance and the new OpenDocument features in KWord 2.
Girish is a former Trolltech developer and was the release manager for Qt 4.3.x. He is sponsored by NLNet to work on improving the ODF support in KWord. He lives in Bangalore, India and runs his own company ForwardBias Technologies (www.forwardbias.in).
